BUD’S FLOWERS ASSOCIATION

BUD’S FLOWERS ASSOCIATION is a non-governmental organization founded in 2011. Member of the Coalition for the Rights of Migrants and Refugees - Romania (CDMiR).
Our mission is to promote and defend through all legal means human rights in general, and in especially migrants, refugees and asylum seekers’ rights. Most of our activities are aimed at facilitating the integration for foreigners in Romania, the target groups are: Asylum seekers, refugees, persons who have obtained subsidiary protection from the middle east and persons who have obtained temporary protection from ukraine , foreign citizens with different types of legal residence in Romania.

Through our activities, we assure / provide:

1. Advocacy and Lobbying: Organize advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about the rights and challenges faced by migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania, and advocate for policy changes to better protect their rights.

2. Legal Assistance: Provide legal support, guidance, and access to specialized legal counseling for registered asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania, ensuring they have access to fair legal representation and assistance in navigating the legal system. Offer regular legal assistance where migrants can receive legal advice, assistance, and advocacy with the purpose of facilitating access for these persons to social benefits and services with issues such as residency permits, employment rights, family reunification, asylum applications, obtaining Romanian citizenship, and other rights, according to the law.

3. Awareness and Education: Conduct training workshops for migrants, community leaders, and volunteers on topics such as human rights, discrimination, access to healthcare and education, and integration strategies. Raise awareness among the public and relevant stakeholders about the rights and challenges faced by migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania through educational campaigns, workshops, and seminars.

4. Community Support: Offer social and psychological support services to asylum seekers, refugees who have experienced trauma or are struggling with mental health issues due to their migration journey or resettlement process, and migrants with legal residence in Romania, including access to counseling, language and cultural classes to help migrants integrate into Romanian society and access education and employment opportunities, and integration programs.

5. Community Building Events: Organize community building events, cultural exchanges, and social gatherings to promote solidarity and integration between migrants and the local population.

6. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and document human rights violations and instances of discrimination against migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania, and report these cases to relevant authorities and international human rights organizations.

7. Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with other human rights organizations, NGOs, and international bodies working on similar issues to exchange best practices, share and leverage resources, strengthen advocacy, and coordinate efforts effectively.

8. Policy Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on migration policies and their impact on the rights and well-being of migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania, and use this information to inform advocacy efforts and policy recommendations.

9. Legal Reform: Advocate for reforms to immigration and asylum laws in Romania to ensure they are in line with international human rights standards and provide adequate protection for migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence.

10. Capacity Building: Build the capacity of local communities, civil society organizations, and relevant stakeholders to effectively support and advocate for the rights of migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania.

11. Translation assistance services: specialization of interpreters with the purpose of improving the quality of the linguistic assistance.

12. Emergency Response: Develop mechanisms for providing emergency assistance and support to migrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants with legal residence in Romania during crises or humanitarian emergencies, including shelter, food, medical care, legal support, and specialized assistance for vulnerable categories (separated children, women, families with children, the elderly, etc.).
